LSS ORIENTATION 2025

Whether you are an incoming student, or a returning upper year, the LSS is proud to organize yet another Orientation Week Program as your official launch into UVic Law student life! Over the first two weeks of September, you will have the chance to meet or reunite with your classmates, connect with students outside of your cohort, and get to know the broader UVic Law community. Our Orientation Co-Chairs have planned a mix of social, academic, and wellness events during this time to help you feel supported, informed, and excited for the year ahead.

  • The University of Victoria Faculty of Law prides itself on being a faculty focused on community. The LSS Orientation program seeks to bring students together across years of study to help students learn from and connect with each other.

  • At the University of Victoria, we believe everyone has their place in the legal field. During Orientation, you will have the opportunity to sign up for clubs and societies that match your interests and network with employers from a broad range of legal disciplines, right from your very first day.

  • Law school can be demanding, and establishing work life balance early on is key. Our Orientation program includes fun activities like trivia, spin, billiards, professional networking at a cidery, clubs days, and our signature Orientation Gala - all organized to make sure you kick the year off right!

*NOTE: Registration for the LCO Info Session (September 3rd), the LAWtine Welcome Social (September 12th) events are required, however RSVP for these events are not done through the LSS website. Please register for these events as instructed in the LSS Orientation 2025 Handbook at the top of this page.

LAW BUDDIES

Every year, the LSS runs our Law Buddies program, where we match incoming students with upper year students who can help answer questions about UVic Law and support them on their law school journey.
